01. Glass Goes in Bin 

When you sign up, we’ll deliver a 15-gallon Purple Bin to your front door within a few days. This bin is designated for your glass recycling, and you can store it indoors or out, as we provide a lid to keep rainwater out. If you have any questions about this step, feel free to contact us here.

Ben and Leal are the owners and operators of Purple Glass Recycling. Ben and Leal were both born and raised in Fairfax County and currently live in Alexandria. Ben participates in wresting during the winter season, while Leal Rows for TBC Racing Crew Team in the fall and spring. Both students are juniors in high school, maintain great grades, and are enrolled in the National Honor's Society.

Picking up your glass in a purple bin

Whether you opt for bi-weekly or monthly pickups, we’ll send you a reminder via text or email as your scheduled date approaches to keep the recycling process running smoothly. You can leave your bin out the day before pickup and our team will handle your glass with care. Typically, pickups occur on the second and last Sunday of the month, and we will always contact you in advance if there are any schedule changes. We handle the rest, making sure your glass is fully recycled and given a second life. After collecting your full bin, we transport the glass to one of our large purple bins or deliver it to a Fairfax County recycling center. You can enjoy the satisfaction of knowing your glass is being properly recycled, without the hassle of managing a time-consuming drop-off process. Read more about this process here.
